Open desktop wallpaper settings

“Background” in Windows settings is where the wallpaper is set.

• Click the Windows mark and click Settings.
• When the setting window opens, click “Personalization”.
• You can open the wallpaper setting screen by clicking “Background” on the left menu.

Change your desktop wallpaper to a solid color

• Click the Background selection menu to expand it and click Solid Color.
• If you click “Solid Color”, the desktop preview displayed at the top will change to a solid color, and a color selection will be displayed at the bottom.
• Click the color tile in “Select Background Color” to change to the selected color.

Change wallpaper with your favorite color

• If you want to create your own color, click “Custom Color” to open the color creation screen.
• The color you are creating is displayed in real time in the rectangular box on the left.
• Click Done when you are done creating colors.

Change the desktop wallpaper picture

• Click the Background selection menu to expand it and click Image.
• If you click “Image”, the desktop preview displayed at the top will change to an image, and an image selection will be displayed at the bottom.
• If you click the image of “Please choose an image”, it will be changed to the selected image.

Change the wallpaper to your favorite image To change to your favorite photo or image, click “Browse”, navigate to the location saved in advance, and click the desired image to select it.
 Click Choose Image to close the image selection screen and change the desktop wallpaper and preview to the selected image.
This way, you are free to change your desktop wallpaper whenever you like.

Setting the display format of the desktop wallpaper

If the wallpaper size is too small and the image quality does not look good when enlarged, or if the aspect ratio of the image does not match, but you want to display the full view of the photo, make adjustments.
Each item is explained, but the image of the wallpaper will not be damaged even if you perform the adjustment, so it is easier to understand if you try it for the time being. 

■ Fit Wallpaper to Page Width

If the size of the image is different from the size of the display, Windows will scale it up or down for display.
When displayed, the center of the image may not be in the center of the screen, but this is a specification, so unless you edit the image itself, you cannot adjust it yourself. 

■ Fit the wallpaper to the size of the image

If the image is landscape, it will fill the screen horizontally and be enlarged or shrunk.
If it is vertically long, the wallpaper will be displayed with the left and right cut off. 

■ Display enlarged wallpaper

Reduce or enlarge the image to fit the screen without maintaining the aspect ratio of the image size.
If the aspect ratio of the image size and the aspect ratio of the display are different, the image will be enlarged and the display will not maintain the ratio, so the image will be shrunk or stretched horizontally or vertically. 

■ Display wallpapers side by side

This adjustment does not scale.
Usually used when the image is small. If the image is larger than the display size, the right edge and the bottom right corner of the image will not be displayed.
If you use a small image, it will be displayed from the top to the left of the screen until it reaches the display size. 

■ Display wallpaper in the center

This adjustment does not scale.
If the image is smaller than the display, it will be displayed at the center of the image size, and the part that is not large enough will be a single color.
If the image is larger than the display, the image will be centered and the excess part will not be displayed. 

■ Span Wallpaper

Settings for use in multiple display environments.
Normally, the same wallpaper is displayed on each display, but “Span” treats multiple displays as one and displays them.
To use “Span”, edit the image size according to the display environment. 

Right click the image to set as wallpaper directly

Images (files) that can be used as desktop wallpaper can be set as wallpaper directly from the right-click menu. Right-click on the image you like and click “Set as desktop background” in the menu that appears to immediately set it as your wallpaper.
*If “Set as desktop background” is not displayed, this file cannot be set as wallpaper.

How to check your display size

Right-click anywhere on the desktop and select Display Settings from the menu.
 “Resolution” in the display setting screen is the size of the display.
The unit of size is “pixel”, which is the standard unit used for photos.

File types that can be used for wallpaper

The type of file that can be used for wallpaper does not mean that you can use anything. Simply put, only image data files can be used. Video files and PowerPoint files cannot be used. 

File extensions that can be used for wallpaper

The desktop wallpaper supports the following file types (extensions). .jpg .jpeg .bmp .dib png .jfif .jpe .gif .tif
.tiff .wdp
 If the extension is not displayed, click “View” in the Explorer menu and click “File name extensions” in the displayed contents to put a check mark.

Wallpaper location

The location of wallpaper is different for user-specific wallpaper and Windows default wallpaper. User wallpapers are in the “username” folder and default wallpapers are in the Windows folder. Also, the location of the original wallpaper image is recorded in the registry.

Set the interval between images in a slideshow

Set the time for switching images in the slideshow.
For 1 day, the image will change 24 hours after the set time.
