Locate your hard drive on your computer and remove it. Loosen the screws on the bottom of your hard drive case to open it up.
Place your hard drive into your external hard drive case. Securely attach it to the hard drive data ports inside the case.
Screw the hard drive to the case of the case. Secure the cabinet together using a screwdriver to tighten the screws.
Attach your case to your new computer with the data cable connected. Plug the cabinet’s plug into an outlet and turn it on. Allow your computer to recognize the hard drive so that you can copy the files to your new computer using a file explorer.
