The differences between MMS and SD memory

Secure Digital (SD) memory and a memory management system (MMS) are types of memory cards, but they were designed with different storage purposes in mind. MMS memory is commonly found in machines such as servers, desktop computers and other devices that usually run for many days at a time. SD memory is commonly used as an additional storage medium for devices such as cell phones, cameras, camcorders and tablets. Goal
SD memory is designed to boot up and shut down frequently, making it ideal for devices that are regularly turned on and off. MMS memory, on the other hand, is designed to run continuously. According to PCWorld, “MMS is designed to be installed and to forget about it.”
Compatibility
The SD format is compatible with all major operating systems such as Mac OS, Windows, Unix and Unix variants. MMS memory is only supported on Windows.

Users
The SD memory card format is designed for users who simply want to plug it into a device and expand the memory capacity. MMS memory is used by programmers, server administrators and other users who want to specify what data MMS memory applies to and what storage drives affect. MMS not only stores the data, but manages it too.
